Good news: we're expanding! And not just anywhere, because we're crossing the border straight away. We've been active in the Netherlands since April last year and in the meantime we've pimped the socials of plenty of Dutch clients. A success story, which means we can now proudly announce: we're adding a second office… in Amsterdam.

We may be to the point (read: a genuine must on social media), but this time we're briefly taking you back to where it all began for our company.
On 27 January 2020 we officially went online with Social Hippo. Back then still in a small home office in Bruges. Like every start-up we had ups and downs, but luckily we could soon reap the rewards of the prevailing highs. Our client base started to grow, so did revenue, and a first employee soon followed.
So here we are: 2 years and 7 months, 6 employees, plenty of clients and a new workplace later. Ready to start the new chapter in our Social Hippo story: the opening of our second office in the Netherlands.
Hey, Netherlands!
On 27 April 2021 (exactly 1 year and 3 months after Social Hippo was founded) we came out with big news. Our unique concept caught on in Belgium, so why not expand to the Netherlands? From that moment we also introduced socialhippo.nl to the world wide web: for businesses and entrepreneurs in the Netherlands who wanted their social media managed by experts. It quickly became clear that our northern neighbours could really use our help too, because our number of Dutch clients grew at a faster pace than we'd ever expected. At a certain point we even had more clients from the Netherlands than from Belgium. Perhaps logical, given that the Netherlands is quite a bit bigger than our own country, but still — the demand was enormous. Sometimes we could barely keep up, so a logical next step was to hire new employees and give every business the great service they deserve.
Let's go with the flow
We're never not growing and we're never not improving. We're always looking for opportunities to go further in our Social Hippo story, because it's too good and too unique not to build on.
As a social media agency we're often linked to everything digital. We also got asked for other services more and more often. So we responded to that. On 17 March 2022 we launched our new concepts: Mailing Hippo, Blogging Hippo and Searching Hippo.
From that moment on, entrepreneurs could also come to us for building and sending newsletters, writing and publishing blog posts, and setting up and following up Google campaigns. The logical consequence: more employees again, to make it all happen.
Meanwhile our number of Dutch clients kept growing and growing. Our success in the Netherlands was too big not to continue with. So we started building a second office in the one and only A'dam.
Let's partner up
At an unexpected moment we got in touch with Tom Maarsman and Klaas Kornelis De Boer, the founders of AstutoLab: an innovative business lab in Amsterdam. They were impressed by Social Hippo and our concept, and working with them we managed to realise our new second office in a very short time.
We're very enthusiastic about this collaboration, because in our view innovation and social media go hand in hand.
The A'DAM Tower
The location of our second office? None other than the A'DAM Tower on Overhoeksplein in Amsterdam-Noord. Plenty of large companies have an office there and we're incredibly proud that Social Hippo now has a permanent spot there too.
A few fun facts about our new top location: the building is a full 80 metres high, towers above everything and everyone with 22 floors, and even has bars, restaurants and a gym inside. The best part? The spectacular view over beautiful Amsterdam.
The future is ours
We're excited, because our future with Social Hippo looks bright. We're incredibly looking forward to building our company further across the border, and to serving all our current and future Dutch clients even better from our new top location.
Conclusion
We're very grateful for everything we've been able to achieve with Social Hippo, the growth we've experienced, the fantastic clients and the many positive reactions. Of course none of this would have been possible without our amazing team, so they definitely deserve a shoutout too.
